Historical Society of Carroll County - VIRTUAL GALA
Getting the Message: A Historical Celebration of Communication in Carroll County.
The Community Media Center will broadcast 7th Annual Legacy Gala LIVE from our studio on Saturday June 26th starting at 7:00 PM on cable channel HD-1086 and channel 19.
About the program:
From the 1813 Engine of Liberty and Uniontown Advertiser newspapers and the nation’s first Rural Free Delivery, to radio that helped break the County’s relative isolation by bringing live news, entertainment and sports into every home, to Quantum’s and Ting’s high speed internet connectivity that makes telework and telehealth possible, communication has played an essential role in weaving together our economic, cultural, civic, and social fabric.
Through interviews and mini-documentaries, the Virtual Gala will salute the movers and shakers instrumental in providing our local media. In addition, there will be music and dance presentations to enjoy, as well as opportunities to bid on trips and other items in our online silent auction.
