2. Civil War Encampment & Living History

Saturday, July 20 at 9 AM –  Sunday, July 21 at 4 PM 

$$ -  Citizen Meets Soldier: Living History and Civil War Encampment

Step back in time on the grounds of the historic Union Mills Homestead for a Civil War Encampment and Living History. Two days of special events commemorate Civil War history at the actual encampment sites used by J.E.B. Stuart’s Cavalry and Sykes’ Union V Corps. Cavalry, Infantry, and Artillery drills, living history, and skirmishes as visitors get a front-row view of Civil War military forces and the effect on civilians at the Union Mills Homestead, where both Union and Confederate forces rested before the decisive battle at Gettysburg. The grounds will open both days at 9:00 a.m.

Admission to the park is $10 a car, which includes all the living history, reenactments, presentations, and walk-through tours of the house and mill. On Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m. we will be holding a Civil War Dance. Admission for dance included with event parking

3. Secret Garden R&B/GoGo Music, Arts and Wine Festival

Sunday July 21st at 12:00 pm  – 7:00 pm

$$ - Admission includes complimentary glass and tasting by Basignani Winery, Dejon Vineyards
Special Guest Winery Linganore Winecellars. Entertainment Featuring Go-Go Band (TBA) along with The Panama Band and DJ Frank Ski, DJ Biskit and Davon on percussions

4. Sundae Scoop

Saturday, July 13th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

FREE - Celebrate National Ice Cream Day with the Historical Society of Carroll County on Sunday, July 21 at the society’s Sundae Scoop event. Bring the whole family to enjoy one free frozen custard or Italian ice from The Cow, food for purchase provided by the Taneytown Lions Club, and music and games on the society’s East Main Street grounds from 1 to 4 p.m.  You can also try churning ice cream the old-fashioned way.  Call 410-848-6494 or email for more information.

5. Free Music at the Park Concert Series

Sunday, July 21st - 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm 

FREE - Enjoy free live music from  Three-4-All a folk and soft rock band perfoming from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Wildwood Park. 400 Park Ave. in Mt. Airy. Snow cones and cupcake vendors also will periodically be on-hand selling their treats. Music at the Park is sponsored by The Town of Mt. Airy and Twin Arch Self Storage Center, LLC.
