Early success for Carroll County girls soccer squads

Inter-county matchups are set to begin Sept. 10 when Liberty hosts Westminster.

South Carroll moved to 2-0 on the season when the Cavaliers took care of Thomas Johnson on Sept. 8.

The Cavs rolled to a 9-2 victory at Parker Field behind 2 goals and 2 assists from Addyson Davis. Ella Boyce also had 2 assists for SC, as did Gretchen Matala. Next up for the Cavaliers is Boonsboro on Sept. 13.

Century 3, C. Milton Wright 2

Recap: The reigning county champion Knights fell behind in the first half but rallied thanks to goals from Melody Levia, Gracie Tourangeau, and Lexi McGinnis. Century (1-0) visits Mercy on Sept. 13.

Westminster 2, Arundel 1

Recap: Audrey Houle netted the game-winner with about 2 minutes to play, and the Owls improved to 3-1. Jordan Joseph also scored for Westminster, and Carlie Rosewag made 8 saves. The Owls visit Liberty (2-1) on Sept. 10.

Fallston 3, Winters Mill 1

Recap: Beti Bittner scored the lone goal for the Falcons (1-1), who host Smithsburg on Sept. 13.

Boonsboro 7, FSK 2

Recap: The Eagles fell short in their season opener, and head to Williamsport on Sept. 13.

Mount de Sales 4, Man Valley 0

Recap: The Mavericks (2-1) suffered their first loss of the season. They host Notre Dame Prep on Sept. 13.
