The Carroll County Arts Council presents:  Spoken Word from DewMore Baltimore. A special MLK Day performance.

This program will be streamed live online and on cable channel 19.  It will be recorded for rebroadcast and will be streamed live on the CCAC Facebook page and YouTube channel.

DewMore Baltimore presents Black Is…, a poetry revue and performance filled with diverse and profound black stories told through an unapologetically black Baltimore lens. This performance seeks to highlight the legacy of MLK and uplift the unique beauty and truth of Baltimore’s poetic voice. Using their artful words as a literary mechanism for change, DewMore has become a national staple in the world of performance poetry.

DewMore Baltimore seeks to foster civic engagement with historically marginalized peoples through innovative art-focused programming and community organizing via purposeful partnerships with community organizations, schools, and governmental agencies that foster empowerment, capacity for change, and community development. Their vision aims to leave individuals and communities in a more actualized, engaged, and connected condition. It places a focus on the importance of literature as a tool to empower people in marginalized communities with the ability and accessibility to platforms where our stories can be told by us.
