1. Annual Rummage Sale
Friday, October 22nd, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Additional dates include: 10/23/2021, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Get your rummaging on! The United Methodist Women of Westminster UMC are hosting a rummage sale benefitting Mission Projects. For sale will be household items, clothing, jewelry, books, DVDs, Christmas items, and more! Plus, there will be a special table with fine things as well as Chef Richard's Famous Pumpkin Bread. 2. Tenth Biennial Faculty Art Exhibition
Friday, October 22nd, 10:00am – 4:00pm
Additional Dates include 10/21,22, 25, & 26 of 2021. 10am - 4pm
Join the Art faculty of McDaniel college in celebrating their works by attending the Tenth Biennial Faculty Art Exhibition, located at the Rice Gallery. The works displayed embody many ranges of media, from paintings and pottery, to digital art and intermedia. 3. Smokin' Hot Date Night
Friday, October 22nd, 6:30 – 8:30pm
Want to rekindle your romance? Spark that flame? You can do so, literally, at the Holbert Homestead this Friday. Get cozy with your partner and enjoy a bonfire, a light dinner, and s'mores for a lovely evening. It costs $25 to attend; they will have hay bales for seating, but otherwise they recommend for you to bring a lawn chair, and marshmallow skewers if you would like. 4. River Valley Run Trail Festival
Saturday, October 23rd, 7:00 – 10:00am
River Valley Run presents their annual Trail Festival! The 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon are on for 2021. The nationally recognized 10k trial race goes through beautiful forests, the 5k crosses the rural roads of Carroll County, and the half marathon crosses through the various water ways on the River Valley Run grounds. Fun for the whole family is available at River Valley Run!

5. Running 4 Recovery
Saturday, October 23rd, 8:00 – 10:00am
If you or your family has been affected by substance abuse, or would like to support those in recovery, Running 4 Recovery is here for you. These races support non-profits like Rising Above Addiction, Carroll County Drug Treatment Court Development Fund, and HOFFA Foundation. 100% of proceeds will benefit the organizations listed above. The event will have a 1 Mile Memory Walk, 1 Mile Fun Run, and a 5 Mile Run; whatever your speed, they will have a race fit for you. There will also be fun Halloween based activities for kids! 6. Hallow-STEAM in Exploration Point!
Saturday, October 23rd, 1:00 – 5:00pm
Get your STEAM on! One of the many STEM fesitivals in MD, Hallow-STEAM in Exploration Point! allows kids and teens 6-17 to participate in Halloween based Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math activities. Take green screen photos, make buttons, and more, all at the Eldersburg Branch of Carroll County Public Library!
7. Sykesville Trick or Treat on Main Street
Saturday, October 23rd, 5:00 – 7:00pm
Main Street of Sykesville invites families, minus their furry friends, for a fun evening of Trick or Treating! They've partnered with the Sykesville Police, Town of Sykesville and Downtown Sykesville Connection to make sure everyone has a safe (and sweet!) evening in cozy Sykesville.
8. Memory
Friday, October 22nd, 7:00 – 8:00pm
Get ready to laugh, cry, and maybe laugh some more. Memory Lane, Carroll County’s new playback theatre troupe, presents their first performance- Memory- at the Carroll Arts Center. Enjoy some improv as troupe or audience members share moments of their lives, and they are enacted by trained actors using music, movement, and dialogue.
9. Opus Chamber Concert
Saturday, October 23rd, 7:00 pm
Carroll Arts center hosts an evening of local chamber music performed by faculty and students of the Opus Community Music School. Opus Community Music School is a non-profit organization which aims to provide high quality and affordable music lessons to students no matter their age or background. Faculty performers include Dr. Mark Runkles on Oboe, Bagus Wiswakarma on Violin, Zoi Tzu-Jou Yeh on Cello, Timothy Pinelli on Piano, Virginia Douglas on Voice, and Pamela Wiswakarma on Piano. Students performing include Audrey, Leilani, and Aileen Wiswakarma on Violin, Viola, and Cello respectively.
10. A “Death” in the Sherman Family
Saturday, October 23, 10am – 4pm
Experience both local history and some October fun at the Historical Society of Carroll County's presentation of Elizabeth Sherman. Recreating a wake, visitors can listen to her life's story. On display there will also be a temporary exhibit regarding funeral practices in the Kimmey House, mourning artifacts, and Sherman's more recent death jewelry. A coffin which is to period is also on display. Learn more about local historical practices this Saturday!
11. Spooky Saturday Halloween
Saturday, October 23, 3 – 8pm
ooOOooO! Spook is in the Westminster air! This Saturday, Westminster Rec. and Parks has coordinated a fun evening of games, trick or treating, food, and a Monster Dash. To follow will be a parade presented by American Legion Post 31. Main Street will be closed between Longwell Avenue and Rt. 27 for the event. Costumes are encouraged!
