 First on the menu are Turkey Trots in Mount Airy and Westminster. Then to help you get in the holiday spirit there's The Shepherd’s Staff's 18th Annual Carroll County Festival of Trees, Treat the kiddos to a Free Family Holiday Film, FROZEN at Carroll Arts Center, or head over the the Ag Center for the Carroll County Farmer’s Market and meet with Santa and Mrs. Claus, or check out the Carroll CountyFarm Museum’s holiday tour - A Choo Choo Christmas.
Get a big helping of holiday cheer at Westminsters Annual Miracle on Main Street Downtown Event featuring an Electric Parade and the annual Tree Lighting.

1. Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Run (Mounty Airy)

Come out to the 2024 Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Run on Thanksgiving, Nov. 28 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Links at Challedon in Mount Airy.All runners and walkers are welcome! The event benefits the Mount Airy Net (Mt. 4. 18th Annual Carroll County Festival of Trees

5. Free Family Holiday Film, FROZEN

Disney’s FROZEN

Celebrate the holidays and bring the whole family to this free movie, a Disney classic, FROZEN!

Come to the Carroll Arts Center on Saturday, November 30 at 2pm for this free, event; no tickets needed.

Make the day a fun filled holiday celebration by attending the Miracle on Main Holiday Parade after the film, at 5pm.

After the kingdom of Arendelle is cast into eternal winter by the powerful Snow Queen Elsa, her sprightly sister Anna teams up with a rough-hewn mountaineer named Kristoff and his trusty reindeer Sven to break the icy spell. Based on “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen.

6. 11th Annual Sykesville Holiday Marketplace

6. Carroll County Farmer’s Market – Santa and Mrs. Claus 

November 30 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

On Saturday, November 30th Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit the Carroll County Farmer’s Market. The seasonal Christmas Market and Hand Made Crafts Show will run Saturdays only 8:00am – 2:00pm thru December 14th.  Each week there will be 75-100 vendors selling a wide variety of handmade and home produced goods.  We have everything to help you with your holiday celebrations.

There will be local beef, pork and lamb, fresh eggs, nuts, honey, cheese, wine, jams and jellies.

Fresh evergreens, wreaths and arrangements can be found for the holidays as well as seasonal plants. Home baked goods and other gourmet foods are also available: pies, cakes, cookies, scones, breads, dip mixes and candy.

Customers will find crafts and fine arts such as jewelry, pottery, wood crafts, photography, baby items, soaps, skin care items, primitive art, fabric items and more.

Breakfast and lunch will be served. Pancake breakfast and egg sandwiches are popular breakfast items.  Homemade slices of pie and cake make great desserts.

Admission and parking are free.

We are handicap accessible.

7. Miracle on Main Street Downtown Event

November 30 @ 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us in historic Downtown Westminster at 12pm on November 30th at Westminster Family Fitness Center located at 11 Longwell Avenue for Santa’s Treat!

Santa’s Treat is a free children’s event filled with games, crafts, face-painting and visits with Santa!

Then join us in historic Downtown Westminster at 5:00pm for our annual Holiday Electric Parade down Main Street followed immediately by our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Locust Lane.

8. Small Business Saturday on Main Street Taneytown

November 30 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join the fun in Taneytown during the annual Small Business Saturday celebration! Kids can craft their own ornaments, make holiday wreaths, and decorate gingerbread men, and all are welcome to stop at the Taneytown Police Station for Cocoa with the Popo! Enjoy live music from Bob Cratchit & The Bookkeepers or create the music yourself with Christmas Karaoke with DJ Yeti! Don’t forget to stop in the amazing shops and restaurants of Taneytown to find the perfect gift or gift cards for the people on your list!

9. Farm Museum’s holiday tour – A Choo Choo Christmas

December 1st through December 22nd

December 1 – 22, 2024. 

Mon. – Fri. 10 am – 3:30 pm (guided tours on the hour);

Sat. and Sun. Noon – 4 pm (self-guided).

Tour the Farmhouse all decorated for the holiday season. Special events on the weekend. Stay tuned for more details.

This year the Farm Museum’s holiday tour – A Choo Choo Christmas – will highlight all things trains.  We welcome you all aboard to tour the Farmhouse where each room will highlight different train aspects and features – visit the chaos of the train station, see freight that was carried and foods that were served in the dining car.  Lanterns, toy trains and train destinations will also be highlighted. Come ride the rails with us this holiday season!
