Homage to Hitchcock
Members create a different take on Psycho
New CMC members Chad Mellendick and David Fair are collaborating on a project that is an homage to Alfred Hitchcock's classic film "Psycho."
They used the CMC studio green screen this past weekend to bring a different take on the film. Scenes include actors riding in a car, which is created by shooting through a "windshield matte" with the green screen in the background. A background can then be added to the footage in editing, an effect will convert the footage to black and white and music and dialogue will be added later as well. The test photo is shown to give a general idea of what the final product will look like.
The cast and crew spent Saturday and Sunday of last weekend and part of Monday to shoot different scenes of the project. Another shooting weekend is planned for October once the actors (who are from West Virginia and York, PA) and the crew can get their schedules to match.
Add to this excellent acting, period costumes and a playfully off-center view of the film that shocked audiences when it premiered and it promises to be an unforgettable member production.
