Owls, Lions play Carroll County girls soccer opener

Only one intra-county game has been played so far this season.

Liberty hosted Westminster on Sept. 10 in the first Carroll County Athletic League clash of the girls soccer season.

The Lions outshot the Owls 15-4 in Eldersburg, but the visiting team took advantage of one of those shots with about 20 minutes remaining in regulation. A throw-in from junior Emily Erb found the foot of younger sister Ana Erb, and the freshman netted her first career goal.

Westminster prevailed behind 15 saves from senior keeper Caroline Rosewag and won its third game in a row.
