In addition to live streaming coverage of the  155th Westminster  Memorial Day Remembrance Parade & Observance Ceremony, the Community Media Center will bring you a full day of special programming, Veteran Interviews from the Carroll County History Projects Oral History Collection, as a tribute to local veterans and special features like "Letters to Home" this special rebroadcast features letters from soldiers lost during war to their families here in Carroll County.




155th Westminster Memorial Day Remembrance

The Community Media Center, (CMC) in partnership with The American Legion - Carroll Post 31 will present live coverage of the 155th Westminster  Memorial Day Remembrance Parade & Observance Ceremony on Monday, May 30th starting at 10:00 AM on cable channel HD 1086 and Channel 19. 

For over 80 years, Carroll Post 31 has remembered our fallen servicemen and women through the Memorial Day Remembrance Parade and Observance Ceremony in Westminster, MD. This parade is considered by many, to be the longest, consecutively run, parades in the country. Join Carroll Post #31 - The American Legion as we continue this humbling tradition ensuring we always remember our fallen Heroes!

The Memorial Day Observances will begin at 11:00 am at Westminster cemetery following the parade. The program will feature an invocation by Rev. Mark S. Bailek, Pastor, St. John's Catholic Church. Kevin E. Dayhoff, Chaplain for Carroll Post #31 American Legion will read Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and Westminster Mayor Dr. Mona Becker and Chief of Police, Thomas Ledwell will place the city wreath.  The national anthem will be sung by Abby Otradove and Mr. Gino Spescia, Chief Warrant Officer-5 (Ret.) United States Army, will give the Memorial Day address. The program will include a Benediction from Rev. David Schafer, Pastor St. Benjamin's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the VFW Honor Guard from Molleville Farm Post 467, taps and echo, by Greg Wantz an David Miller of the Westminster Municipal Band.

The program will be streamed live online and on cable cable channel HD 1086, and channel 19 and will be recorded for rebroadcast.
