Youth Voices is a PSA contest developed by the Community Media Center to support the Carroll County States Attorney’s efforts to educate high school and middle school students on the dangers of drugs and unhealthy relationships.
The contest encourages students to create a video or audio PSA that speaks directly to their peers.
High School students should submit a storyboard outlining a PSA about Healthy Relationships, dating violence or how to identify abusive behavior. You don’t have to submit a completed PSA. Just submit your idea. If you’re selected as a winner, the Community Media Center will work with you to produce your PSA.
Middle school students should submit a script for a radio PSA about the dangers of drugs, making smart choices or how to refuse when offered drugs.
In April the top three finalist in the video and audio categories will be selected, and announced at the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Drug and Violence Awareness Expo. The grand prize winning PSA in each category will be produced by the Community Media Center and made available for county wide distribution.
If you have questions about the program, please contact us at YouthVoices@carrollmediacenter.org.
The Community Media Center is proud to partner with Carroll County Public Schools, the Carroll County States Attorneys Office and WTTR AM/FM to facilitate this campaign.
