College Choir performs “I’ll Remember You in a Song” on Sunday, April 23, at 7 p.m., in Baker Memorial Chapel at McDaniel College
WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel College students perform in the annual College Choir Concert. The performance, which is free and open to the public, is Sunday, April 23, 7 p.m., in Baker Memorial Chapel at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md.
The college choir presents “I’ll Remember You in a Song” under the direction of Margaret Boudreaux, director of choral activities. The Madrigal Singers, McDaniel’s premier a cappella vocal ensemble, also performs on several selections.
The highlight of the concert is the premier of an arrangement by Boudreaux of the song “I’ll Imagine You a Song” by Steven Lutvak and Carol Hall.
“The concept of carrying memories through music is ancient, and crosses all areas of the human experience,” said Boudreaux.
The premiere of Robert Cohen’s “Spirit of the Winding Water,” which memorializes the role of water in Native American cultures, is also planned. Other selections include James Mulholland’s “A Red, Red Rose” and songs pertaining to the theme of memory, including Ysaye Barnwell’s “Wanting Memories” and Moses Hogan’s “Battle of Jericho.”
