McDANIEL COLLEGE’s ANNUAL JURIED UNDERGRADUATE EXHIBITION HIGHLIGHTS THE BEST STUDENT ARTWORK
“Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition” runs Tuesday, March 21–Friday, April 7, in McDaniel’s Rice Gallery
Opening Reception: Tuesday, March 21, 5:30–7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.
WESTMINSTER, Md. – The annual “Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition” highlights the best artwork by students at McDaniel College. The exhibition runs Tuesday, March 21–Friday, April 7, in Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall, at McDaniel, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. An opening reception takes place Tuesday, March 21, 5:30–7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.
All students in the college’s department of art and art history are invited to submit up to five pieces of art that they have done while studying at McDaniel for inclusion in the exhibition.
Eight award winners are chosen for First, Second and Third places, as well as three honorable mentions, Best in Show and a Foundations award that is open to work done in Drawing One (Perceptual Drawing and Design). The awards are announced during the opening reception.
Hannah Leighton and Madeline Becker of Baltimore’s Ballroom Gallery, an alternative art space, are the jurors for the exhibition. Both Leighton and Becker studied at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) before co-founding the Ballroom Gallery (http://ballroomgallery202.com).
