WESTMINSTER, Md. – Bruce Friedrich, executive director of The Good Food Institute, which works to create a healthy, humane and sustainable food supply, speaks at McDaniel College’s annual Ridington Lecture on Tuesday, April 11, 7 p.m., in McDaniel Lounge, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. The lecture is free and open to the public.
His presentation is titled “Seeds of Disruption: How Markets and Food Technology Will Save the World.” Having held leadership roles at food advocacy organizations promoting animal protein alternatives to meat, dairy and eggs, he explains why these products are gaining popularity and how they will change how the world eats.
As executive director of The Good Food Institute, an organization that works “with scientists, investors, and entrepreneurs to make groundbreaking good food a reality,” according to its website, he focuses on the issues of global hunger, environmental consequences, human health consequences and intensification of animal treatment.
