POSITION: Digital Media and Web Designer – 11/20/2018

Description: Full time benefited position, 40 hours per week, some overtime and travel required. The primary responsibilities of the Digital Media and Web Designer are to lead the planning, development and management of web and graphic services including the Community Media Center web site and several partner websites, and related social and digital media platforms. The Digital Media and Web Designer works under the direction of the Marketing Director and plans, creates and manages content for various websites and online properties, effectively communicating information to internal and external audiences, consultants, stakeholders and users. The Ideal candidate will be an experienced digital content designer and content strategist/creator, managing all aspects of the content lifecycle from concept to presentation.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years’ experience in web design & development, including complex HTML documents with embedded graphics, forms, audio, video and script objects. Drupal and WordPress expertise and demonstrated layout and graphic design skills

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Expertise in web page development and image manipulation software including: Adobe Creative Suite, HTML5, CSS3, WordPress and Drupal development, JavaScript/query, SEO management, Social Networking platforms, mobile/responsive web development.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple requests for services.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Proficient in social media use and strategies
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Professional communication skills
  • Experience with video, audio, lighting, cabling and/or computer systems highly desirable
  • Ability to manage time and assignments with minimal supervision
  • Ability and persistence to learn on the job
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently move Audio/Visual equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for conceptualization and implementation of design solutions/standards that meet web and content design strategies. Creation of design solutions for various platforms including web, social and digital media, from concept to completion
  • Manage multiple projects of varying complexities
  • Coordinate with management and staff and consult with them to establish priorities for web-site development and to plan, review, and evaluate the CMC web page
  • Work with Marketing to maximize publicity efforts through various platforms including website, social and digital media
  • Write detailed proposals for internal and external clients
  • Provide excellent customer service to all website users and ensure accuracy of content and prompt resolution of problems
  • Cross promote CMC’s partners websites, social and digital media to increase prominence within their web community and cross connectedness with CMC’s content
  • Ensure regular communication and email contact with partners external and internal clients and act as main point of contact for web, social and digital media related services
  • Develop web page infrastructure, utilize applications to ensure technical performance and assess new technologies for applicability to CMC needs
  • Work with network personnel on issues of hardware/software that affect the web site,
  • Collects and maintains all regular or special requested web, social and digital media analytics providing routine reports
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and CMC policies on web site usage, security and standards
  • Work with educational partners to provide student interns as well as patron members and volunteers with web and graphic design direction and learning experiences
  • Assist with CMC and partner graphic design needs as directed including print, video and digital.
  • Work with outside vendors in the development of enhanced applications, configurations and uses of web, social and digital media technologies

 

POSITION: MULTI-MEDIA CONTENT PRODUCER

OVERVIEW:  This position produces, and readies media including text, audio, video, and still images on multiple platforms for emerging technologies such as wireless media, downloadable audio, video, and audio-visual broadcasts.  Must be 21 years of age or older, have valid driver license and clear driving record.  Position is designated as casual worker less than part time and requires 5 or more working hours per month.

  • HOURLY RATE:

    $15.00

  • STANDARD HOURS:

    Less than part time, on demand schedule

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in media production, broadcast, communications or related field; 1 or more years’ employment/experience in television production, including familiarity with studio and field production equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Professional communication and public relations skills
  • Skilled with video/audio/computer systems, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
  • Software programs including Final Cut Pro or Premier
  • Ability to take direction and instructions from management
  • Ability to manage time and assignments with minimal supervision

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • At the direction of Multi-Media Management
    • Setup and operate production equipment for all CMC events, studio and field productions
    • Production of content on any and all of CMC’s projects or productions
    • Cover municipal events, public meetings, assist with scripts web and television productions
    • Develops and updates motion graphics for current and previous content.
    • Maintain project records
    • Performs duties related to specific assignments
