Don’t let the holidays pass you by without enjoying some of seasonal happening in this weekend’s Top 5 List.  Enjoy the sounds of the season with the Children’s Chorus of Carroll County’s Winter Celebration Concert or experience the music and songs of a Celtic Christmas at Carroll Arts Center. Be sure to stop by the Antrim 1844 for the Boys & Girls Club’s  Holiday Open House. If it’s dance you prefer, don’t miss the American School of Inspiration’s presentation of Firebird Ballet.  There’s still time to take in the Holiday Lights Show at McDaniel College and squeeze in that important visit with Old St. Nick and take a carriage ride in downtown Westminster. There’s so much to choose from, so get out there and enjoy the holidays in Carroll County!

FREE – Join the Children’s Chorus of Carroll County for their Winter Celebration! The December concert is full of holiday cheer and good tidings the whole family will enjoy!

2. Visits with Santa

Saturday, Dec. 15th from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

FREE – Visit Santa on a Saturday in December and take advantage of a free carriage ride through Historic Westminster from 12pm-4pm. Horse and carriage rides may be picked up behind Life is…Pizza on Locust Lane beginning at 12pm. All activities are free of charge.

3. A Celtic Christmas with Ocean Orchestra

Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2:00 pm

$$ -Celebrate the magic of Yuletide and the Winter Solstice at this matinee event with OCEAN Orchestra…the skirling of the pipes, toe-tapping fiddle tunes, and soaring vocals await you in this Celtic Christmas celebration. Presented by The Music Cafe.

4. Boys & Girls Club of Westminster Maryland Holiday Open House

Sunday, Dec. 16th. at 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$$ -Kick off the Holidays in style and help support our kids at the same time! Get your tickets now for Antrim 1844 Champagne Christmas Open House on Dec.16th from 12-2PM. Winters Mill Chorus will serenade us with festive holiday tunes and Santa will even be there to take pictures with the kids.

5. Holiday Light Show at McDaniel College

Saturday & Sunday, Dec. 15 - 16 from 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm

FREE -Kenneth R. Gill Stadium will be illuminated with a drive-in light display synchronized to music. Enjoy an all-new show in 2018 featuring songs including “The Polar Express,” “Sleigh Ride,” and “Wizards in Winter” by Trans Siberian Orchestra

6. Tracey Durr's Firebird

Sunday, Dec. 16th at 3:00 pm

$$ – American School of Inspiration presents Firebird the ballet. Firebird is a ballet and orchestral concert work by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. It was written for the 1910 Paris season of Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes company; the original choreography was by Michel Fokine, with a scenario by Alexandre Benois and Fokine based on the Russian fairy tales of the Firebird and the blessing and curse it possesses for its owner. When first performed at the Opéra de Paris on 25 June 1910, the work was an instant success with both audience and critics.
